Medela Breast Pump

We rarely even mention the term breast pumps at the family's dining table, but actually we should. Way too many of my girlfriends have moaned about breast pumps hurting or even in some cases leading to them switching to formula. Let me tell you about the time when I was expecting my first baby and had severe problems with my breast pump. Let's not take its name here though, since it doesn't necessarily mean it will not work for you if it didn't work for me.

The happy ending of this story was my finding a breast pump that worked flawlessly and actually wonderfully. I bought the Medela Breast Pump from Amazon's website, though I later realized that elsewhere it is even cheaper than $300. The first noticeable feature of the Medela pump is its design, which seems to have been done unusually thoughtfully. Whether you're used to using a bag or not, Medela breast pumps come in quite a range, most of which are in 3 different bag styles.

For me the backpack was ideal especially since we go out walking a lot, but others may want to pick one from the alternate styles they offer. The large variety of breast pumps out there was confusing me, but its online reviews I chanced upon while researching for pumps, affirmed that it should be the pump to try.

The reviews for the medela breast pump where far more positive than any of the other pumps - even the more expensive ones! The features to particularly look out for, when deciding on a breast pump are:

1. Cost - if you're not willing to spend $300, maybe an electronic pump from a discount sale, or a manual pump could work. But otherwise, Medela's would be the best option.

2. Quality of material - One can go through reviews online to ensure that the pump bought (or to be bought) is made with standard material and will be durable enough.

3. Easy to use - Pumping breast milk can be very difficult so one must try to pick a pump that will decrease the discomfort and difficulty in pumping milk.

I decided that because the medela breast pump was so much better than the other options - I would set up a blog to share my breast pump experience. Please feel free to check out my blog and if you have any questions then please leave a comment.
